Wrong Way has partnered with James Beard semi-finalist Ashley Capps and her partner Travis Schultz of Newstock Pantry to provide seasonally-inspired, farm-sourced catering to our groups. "We can't say enough great things about the Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabins!! There truly is no better place in Asheville if you are looking for great accommodations (bright, spacious, pretty decor and comfy beds), the property (lots of beautiful indoor and outdoor hangout spaces + river and mountain views!!), an ideal location (close to nature, restaurants, art, etc by foot, bike or car) and the staff (so friendly and accommodating!!). We were a group of 12 getting together for a college reunion and we all stayed for 5 nights. My husband and I are local to the area and our friends came from all over the country. Everyone was so pleased with how fun and easy it was to sit on someone's cabin porch, or in the private outdoor meadow by the campfire. We even hosted an outdoor BBQ for the group with help from the staff who provided some of the gear we needed for an incredible outdoor meal under a full moon. "I attended a retreat at Wrong Way and was blown away. The accommodations are welcoming, clean, comfortable and welcoming. While there I stayed in both the standard and deluxe cabins and enjoyed both. If you are traveling with a family or group it would be nice to have the deluxe. That said, as a solo traveler I would recommend the standard. I enjoyed the openness. The accommodations are interesting - records and a record player, plants and some pieces unique to each cabin. Beds and bedding were comfortable and there is a hammock in each cabin. The retreat was held at the lodge and had everything we needed. "Our team hosted our first-ever out-of-town team retreat in Asheville, NC, and it did not disappoint. First! A shout-out to Explore Asheville. Their website is a wealth of knowledge of everything you need to know if considering a visit to Asheville. Their sales team helped me find the perfect solution for our small team--Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabins. Before, during and after, Shelton Steele and the team at Wrong Way were excellent partners. For every question or issue we had, they were quick to answer and figure out solutions. We came in Wed - Fri in mid-October. We used the River Lodge's large meeting space with a large wall-mounted monitor for our team meetings and presentations. We had delicious breakfasts and lunches on-site provided by their catering partner, Newstock Pantry. We were lucky to have warm fall weather, which allowed us to enjoy many of our meals outside around the campfire and picnic tables. The cabins were a hit with the entire team. Everyone loved discussing what records were in their cabin and a highlight was the hammocks for the balconies. Swinging in a hammock and watching the sunset after a long day was a great way to relax. The entire Wrong Way layout made it feel like we were all together at a modern and well-manicured campsite. With Wrong Way as our home base, we were able to take hikes in the local park. Our team walked to the River Arts District to poke around the galleries. We had fun on a brewery tour that allowed us to see more of Asheville. We also enjoyed some local favorite eats from 12 Bones Smoke House, Wicked Weed Brewing Pub and a splendid private dining experience at Rhubarb.
